In a national team, the best players of a country represent their nation at international championships when playing against other teams. This kind of matches are called international matches because two countries compete against each other to win the title.
One of the main organizers of these international matches is the UEFA – short for “Union of European Football Associations”. 55 countries with their respective football association belong to it.
The UEFA was founded in 1954 in Basle, Switzerland. Every four years, the UEFA organises the European Championships, also known as the Euros. A total of 24 teams participates in the final round and within a drawn group of four, each team has to compete against each other. Always the two best teams enter the quarter finals. From now on, they compete in a single-elimination tournament until one team wins the Euros.
The same is organised by the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association – French for “International Federation of Association Football”) every four years as World Cup. Here, teams from all over the world compete against each other. You’ll find the perfect fan items for your next Euros or World Cup at our shop. We offer jerseys and shorts of the Three Lions, France, Germany and Spain.
